The J.M.
Bucheimer Co. originally from the Ruxton area of Towson, Maryland, was founded
in 1884 and sells a variety of leather products. Ownership has changed over the
years, but its holsters are still around and generally sell in the $200 to $400
range. This is a used, like-new, left-handed, lined, basket-weave variation
that I bought in Frenchtown, Montana, adjacent to Missoula. I am ambidextrous in the use of firearms,
which is a useful trait, to say the least. This holster has a "pouch"
for a spare magazine attached on the side. It is designed for a Browning
Hi-Power pistol. It works fine for that model, but I am using it for my Colt
Model 1911 Combat Commander in .38 Super caliber .... it suits that particular
handgun even better. Superb pistols deserve premium leather. I guess this post
could be considered a continuation of "my favorite things" -- or, like Bobby Dylan's, "Tangled Up in Blue," sort of a mystery open for introspection and to interpretation ....

Perhaps one of my favourite Dylan songs. You're right, the song is open to all kinds of interpretations.
Greetings from London.
I never have been a major fan of Bobby Dylan, but I have seen him in concert a few times, including being in the right Saint Paul saloon one night when he walked in unannounced. The doors were promptly locked and he performed a few of his pieces.
I enjoy Dylan's music in a general sense and have a few favorites, including this one. Being curious by nature, I decided to look at a list of the songs he has written to refresh my memory .... and, I was literally astonished to learn that the official count is four hundred, fifty-eight (458). Absolutely amazing ....
Thank you, CiL, for stopping by and for writing a comment for me. It is great to see you here.
Uma fotografia bonita Fram, esse coldre é bem caro, risos. O couro me parece da melhor qualidade. Estojo bem criativo.
Boa semana Fram!
Sorrisos!
It is a good holster and sort of an expensive one .... but / but / but .... like many items in these times, it is the name which creates much of the cost, as well as the quality.
Being ambidextrous is useful in many ways, Smareis. Unfortunately, for me, it applies to me only in a few areas and it began by accident rather than by intent. It is interesting (at least to me) that when I started shooting "real guns" as a boy, I began firing long guns left-handed and handguns right-handed. That is what came naturally. At some later point, I discovered I was faster that way, but my shooting was more accurate the other way around. Consequently, for stationary shooting and long-distance shooting I reverse my natural habit; for being prepared to react quickly, I go with what comes naturally.
My first experience both with target shooting and sort of supervised, actual hunting began when I was ten years of age; by the time I was eleven, I had two guns of "my own" and was hunting by myself and with other "little friends."
Bobby Dylan is a "Minnesota boy." He was raised in Hibbing -- iron ore mining country up north -- and attended the university here in the Twin Cities for a year before heading out to New York City and to a rather rapid rise to fame. He was born at the right moment in time for his particular brand of music. He pretty much is one of a kind.
Yes, Smareis .... thank you, for coming here and for writing a comment for me .... a wish for a good week and many smiles from me to you, too ....
I never have tried to count the number of things I can do with either my right hand or my left hand, Smareis, but two things I cannot do with my left is write or draw. The two major activities in which I am most comfortable using my left hand are shooting long guns and swinging baseball bats. I was the only "switch-hitter" on my school baseball teams as a boy.
Yes, Robert Allen Zimmerman, now known as Bob Dylan, was born in Duluth, Minnesota, and lived there the first six years of his life. His family then moved to Hibbing, where he was raised and attended school. He still does come back to Minnesota from time to time and wander around. That is how I happened to encounter him in a Saint Paul bar one night. It was a memorable evening ....
Thank you, Smareis, once again, for your visit and your words and your smiles .... take care and be safe and stay out of mischief ....
