Waiting for Santa Claus

Merry Christmas

A few words from William Shakespeare
through the voice of Marcellus
with reference to Christmas Eve / Christmas Day
in "Hamlet" .... Act I, Scene I ....

The bird of dawning singeth all night long;
And then, they say, no spirit dare stir abroad,
The nights are wholesome, then no planets strike,
No fairy takes, nor witch hath power to charm,
So hallow’d and so gracious is the time.

And, a song I was listening to six years ago today ....

Yes so many times Christmas...But every year its a little bit different I think..I always say..Next time i will spend it in a hot place..Just me relaxing

As it is now..I feel more like a servant..Making food and making it cosy for others..I have had 5 visitors..and they still are here..But it is nice though..Alot of laugh, funny shoots and memories
My questions are many about you..but i will leave them as they are..quiet thoughts.

I hope you spent your Christmas evening with family and friends Fram.Thinking of you:))))
Happy Holidays!

Well, I was not expecting such a lengthy comment, Anita. You sound busy and happy and full of the Christmas spirit, which is good, and I am happy for you.

My holiday is more like what you described with the words, "Just me relaxing." With one exception:

I thought you were aware that I have no dogs, no cats, no birds, no fish .... my life is not conducive to such a style of living at this time. I am merely "puppy-sitting" for this little fellow -- he is my Christmas guest. I might mention that Santa Claus did find him here, although he is a long way from home. And, this guy is a very intelligent young man. When we got up this morning, I asked him if he had looked under the Christmas tree. He immediately went there, jumped up on the chair to see better and quickly spotted the gifts meant for him. He will be returning to his home when I take to the road on Sunday.

No family, no friends for me this Christmas. All is quiet and peaceful in my world.

I am not a fan of Neil Diamond, but I appreciate some of the songs he has written, this one in particular. Sarah Brightman I do like and I enjoy her music. I would like to see her in concert someday, although her voice is beginning to fade away.

The room in the photograph once was a dining room. I use it for reading and the dining room table has become sort of a work bench.

Well, thank you, Anita, for the visit, the comment and the holiday greeting. Once again, Merry Christmas to you, and I wish you the very best.

Actually, Anita, there was no plan for that room other than having the dining room table free to use for work. The chairs sort of just got shoved there. It did work out nicely with hindsight, though, having the window light over my shoulder while reading. For a long while, the lazy boy was about four feet from the window and facing the window so I could sit there looking outside. My main area is opposite, in the living room = lots of books, computers, television, more guns, bigger windows.

Winter is here. Snow and colder temperatures for me.

I hope your weather will cooperate with you so you will be able to enjoy your week away from work. Thank you, for coming to see me again .... take care ....

Hi Fram :-)
Happy, Merry from Me.
I have been gone a long time.
I agree with Anita: the house looks cozy and nice. I did notice your picture up on the wall in the right-hand corner :-) Very nice, Mr. Wolf :-)

David Bowie died today...so sad. He was a legend in my mind. I thought maybe you would be posting Absolute Beginner on your blog today in his honor. I came to visit and to listen. Sara is always a treat too...such a beautiful, beautiful voice. She sounds like an angel.

Well, I hope you are truly well and happy. I always think of you and smile...
Love, Best Wishes and Kisses,
Kelly :-)

There is both snow and cold for me today, Anita. One comes, the other goes, but sometimes their paths cross.

I am not back to the blogs yet .... just stopping by to see what is new. I will post tomorrow.

You like my jacket, hmmmm ?? Me, too !!!!

Sorry, that I have missed some of your posts .... I owe you ....

Thank you, times two, I guess, Daliana, for the Christmas and the New Year wishes. It is nice to see you here again. I miss your presence.

You know I wish the best for you, too, and hope the coming year will not only be good, but the best ever for you and for your family.

I quite agree with you, AG. I always ride toward the sound of the gunfire.

Thank you, for visiting me here and for your wish for the New Year. I will visit you in the days ahead, too.

I hope your coming year will be everything you want it to be ....

You know me too well, Kali Kelly. (That almost sounds Hawaiian, so I guess it fits you in more ways than one.)

You see me coming before I even begin the walk. I have a post of sorts going up tomorrow, and I pulled the songs from it and replaced them with none other than David Bowie and "Absolute Beginners." I have played it about a dozen times this evening, and will, no doubt, be listening to it and more sounds of Bowie as evening passes into night. The "Glass Spider" tour music will begin here for me in a while. That is the first time I recall hearing "Absolute Beginners," and the performance accompanying the song really made them both special, I think.

One of these years I might make it to see/hear Ms. Brightman. Everyone else seems to pass through the Twin Cities in concert; why not her? I wonder if she is finished touring ....

Yes, it is a cozy place with snow falling, temperatures falling, wind howling -- I just wish it were in the middle of nowhere. Someday, maybe, nowhere .... hmmmm .... strange wish .... hmmmm ....

The picture that you noticed on the wall actually is a painting of a German shepherd. A painting of her daughter is just out of sight. They were companions from another incarnation.

You brought me out of the shadows a day early, but I will slip back again now, Kelly. I truly am well, but, I think, incapable of being happy for more than brief bursts -- my moods are like sunlight on a cloudy day, coming and going, never knowing how long they might last.

I hope all is well and fine for you and for your family. I really do think about them and wonder about them and hope life is treating them well. Time seems like it has not moved when I think of you and, believe me, that is a good feeling. We are no further apart than yesterday in my mind .... sort of like walking down the same street seeing each other on the other side ....

Take care, stay safe and a smile is nice .... just do not laugh .... teasing .... and, life would be better if you spent more time being part of the sunlight -- which translates into try not to be absence for months at a time ....

Thank you, Kelly ....

I just listened to David Bowie and "Modern Love" a few times and then moved on to the entire "Glass Spider" one more time.

Never was a concert like it before; never has been one like it since.

Fantastic music +
great chorography +
absolute artistry +
extraordinarily talented individuals =
heaven on earth or, at least,
momentary forgetfulness = happiness

Signaled the beginning of the end of the truly great rock.

Glad I have been alive during this musical era ....

Full Metal Jacket is one of my top films ever. David Bowie, man, well... life sucks. That's all.

Greetings from London.
