You looking at me ??!!

There seems to be a bit of "the grouch" revealed in the eyes of Buddy as he tries to catch up on his sleep, but is awakened by me stalking him with my camera .... click, flash .... click, flash .... click, flash. This is not an actual post, but, rather, a facsimile created to substitute for the real thing. Today, March 16, is my birthday, and I felt the need to mark it one way or another. What better way than by a photograph of Buddy ?? I doubt I will be back this way again until mid-April .... I feel a sort of strong urgency to pack up and move on, and time is becoming precious to me .... but, who can say ?? Certainty about anything or anyone is a scare commodity in these times.

Happy Happy Birthday Dear Fram!!

I wish you a jolly good day with alot of good food and your good family around you.I should like very much one day to learn more about your family.As they do have something of you ,inside them..they must be very respectful and nice people.
I should like to give you a present..You might see it in a dream or two..
Well so Buddy is back in his home now..I was thinking of him here the other day...Its a good dog and may he bring much happiness to you.

I see in the weahter forcast you have a terrrible weather in America right now..Lets hope its the last shivering of King Winther.

Thank you, Anita, for the birthday greetings and wishes. The day was enjoyable in that it marked the last/final/it-finally-is-over visit this morning by a "home care" nurse who is both a very pleasant individual and a very professional individual. This afternoon, I spoke with my son and my former wife on the telephone, and one of my two daughters came to spend a few hours with me. Barring the unforeseen, my son and his girlfriend will be here for the weekend.

As for food, it was pretty much routine except for the "German Chocolate Cake" I purchased while shopping on Wednesday (Wodan's Day). The baker said he was fresh out of "Norwegian Chocolate Cake," which came as no surprise to me since I have never heard of such a thing and simply made it up to see his reaction. I think he knew I was teasing him, and he tried to be clever in return ....

So, then .... I do dream quite frequently and I hope tonight will be no different .... well, not exactly .... let me say, I hope the realm of dreams will be rewarding tonight.

The "terrible weather" is all on the East Coast, Anita. Here, in the Midwest, we have been freezing our "behinds" off, but no storms and no snow has fallen since the four inches a few days ago. That has pretty much melted, and we are promised a few days of spring-like temperatures.

Yes, Buddy is a good dog -- actually, a great dog, and I am fortunate to have him. He was in heaven this afternoon having my daughter cuddle with him and talk to him. I should have taken a photograph, but I was enjoying the sight of it too much to think of getting my camera and recording their time together.

Anyway .... I do believe that it is time for me to flee back into the shadow-world of Neverland for a while.

CiL .... I am not certain what happened, but I somehow deleted the message of your comment and I cannot find a means to bring back the words. I apologize profusely.

As I recall, you wrote words to the effect that had I been born a day later, I would have had an entire nation celebrating/observing my birthday. I would note that had I been born a day earlier (three for four minutes, actually), I probably would need to employ a detachment of sword-bearing Centurions for personal protection.

In either case, thank you, CiL, for your presence and your words.

(Next time, I will be more careful ....)

Essentially, Anita, I am counting the hours until the weather finally realizes it is spring.

FramWinter ends officially when March 31 becomes April 1, but it seems no one ever bothers to inform "old man winter" of his demise. Perhaps, Mother Nature has a sense of humor and is attempting an April Fools' Day joke on winter and the occupants of Planet Earth. This has been the long way of saying I have been idling my time away.

By the way, last week there were several consecutive days and nights when the temperature was well below the freezing mark. I think the tulips in my yard survived it.

I am always happy to write a comment on your posts, Anita, and I am always happy when you visit me and leave a few words here for me. So, thank you .... and, see you whenever and wherever ....

I am back to work again(therefor late answer.)but no extra jobs..i enjoy the freedom :)

All i can think of these days are where to spend my summer holiday this year..
Soo its nice winther soon will go away..You are so lucky to have a garden.Is it so ,you often get visit from Coyotes??wild animals?

Is this soon enough ?? For sort of "seeing" me ?? Teasing ....

Only twice have I seen a coyote here, Anita: Once last summer and again a few months ago. It may have been the same one; I am not certain. Both times were in broad daylight, and the coyote appeared to know what he was doing and where he was going.

There are ducks and geese flying by every day, with mallards often landing and exploring yards. The elderly couple who lived in the house behind mine used to put out food for the ducks, but he died and she went into a nursing home, so the ducks probably will not visit so often anymore. Occasionally, there are turkeys and deer passing by .... and, that about covers it.

I have no garden per se, but there are a few flower beds which existed when I came here and which have annual plants to brighten the yard every summer.

I would be surprised if you did not return to Cyprus again this summer, Anita. You seem to love it there and enjoy your time there very much. But, maybe, it is time for you to try a new location. The south of France along the Mediterranean Sea can be very expensive, but offers, in its way, a taste of "paradise found." I have been there only once, and would really, really like to return for an extended stay.

So, it has been a busy and somewhat confusing day for me, Anita .... I hope tomorrow will be easier in both regards -- as well as be "good for you and good for me," as is sung in one of the Marine Corps double-time cadences. Later, baby ....

Confusing day for you??What happened??

I think you live in a wondeful place..Having a house for yourselves is among many things just happiness!I have lived in many houses..Big old and a little bit scary to be..The last one was the house of Hitlers soldiers..They had horses many and the walls was full of flies..Imoved out quickly from that house.After that i find a kind of penthouse flats nice..(heh dont comment!)

Ohh Fram..I really dont know where to go..this year..if the doctor says its ok for Alexander to be in the sun(He is staying on Isotretinoin for acne still)I sure will go to the Mediterranean

I think it must be a wonderful wildlife where you live..I envy you!

Well Fram.I have finished my work session..Took some shoots on the way yesterday..Soon i will go to sleep reading those brave hunters men living in Alaska.Tomorrow we espect snow and rain again

Every day is confusing for me, Anita .... well, most days are, anyway ....

You are right about living in a nice house in a wonderful place. That sort of environment should be enough for me, enough for anyone .... but, those things are not what will ever make me happy or content or satisfied. Such surroundings only make me bored and lazy and dull. I am the restless type, who needs to be on the move and encountering new places, new faces and new challenges. The last environment where someone with my nature should set up camp is in a nice house in a wonderful place because that is where time and the days, to borrow some lines from William Shakespeare, amount to no more than these:

To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day.
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death.

If you enjoy wildlife, Anita, my home in Dakota would suit you. Coyotes would walk through the yard, and there were times on a cold, winter night when the moon was full, when a pack would encircle the house and "call for the dogs to come out and play." I enjoyed it.

Deer were plentiful in the yard, as were turkeys. Eagles would land in tree next to the house, hoping a careless squirrel or an unwary rabbit would walk by, and, since I left, my son has seen a mountain lion twice.

I hope things work out well for you in terms of a location for your summer holiday. It is too bad Alexander has a problem with acne which limits places and activities. Let me know when you have made a decision about a location.

I will look forward to seeing your next post and, if things work out, writing a comment for it. As well as having a natural talent for photography, you are showing ever-increasing ability and skill to master it technically and artistically.

This is getting a bit lengthy .... so long for now, Anita .... I like making you happy ....

You must have been a very busy and especially thoughtful girl while putting together your comment for this post, Anita. I am impressed and pleased.

To begin, everything I said about your photography was accurate and true. You are a wonderful photographer and have been improving markedly with the passage of time.

Yes, my son now lives in the house on the hill in Dakota. He comes to visit me a few times each year and I spend a few days with him when we both have enough free hours and an ample supply of bullets. I do most of my "practice" shooting on the ranges I set up when I lived there. And, yes, I have posted a few photographs taken there.

As for your "modern words" as interpreted from those written by William Shakespeare, some days I would agree with them and other days I would argue against their accuracy and validity -- it would depend upon my mood and whether or not the sun was shining, which is sort of saying the same thing. Most days, I probably would agree with the words.

As for my own days, I am inclined to think my best ones have come and gone, which is to say I think I have reached (and passed) the summit of the mountain of life and I am now in my descent. Physically, I know that as a certainty. Long ago, I read that men generally reach their physical peak around age twenty-nine. There are exceptions to every generality, of course, but I know I have been slipping and sliding downhill for a few years now. It would take more than dumb luck for me to accomplish anything significant now.

Well, I may not be boring, but I am bored. My "surroundings only make me bored and lazy and dull." To repeat once again: "I am the restless type, who needs to be on the move and encountering new places, new faces and new challenges. The last environment where someone with my nature should set up camp is in a nice house in a wonderful place ...."

My last thought for this comment is that I do agree with the words with which you ended your comment: The more complicated a person is, the more interesting he is .... and, the more dangerous.

Greetings, Smareis .... I am bored and restless and moody, but otherwise fine .... hmmmm ....

If all goes well and as planned, I will have a "sort of post" on Easter Sunday. I continue to be uninspired and, in a general sense, disinterested in life .... but, I feel like I must post something or I will go to sleep and never awaken.

If all goes well and as planned, my son will be here for the Easter weekend. With him for company and if the weather cooperates (much sunshine !!), I might be able to escape from the doldrums .... for a few days, at least, and, possibly, even find a bit of peace, reflection and joy.

I truly appreciate your gift of "a handful of stars nestled among colorful rose pedals" .... I am envisioning them at this moment, and I see you among the angels lighting them with a radiant smile. Thank you, Smareis.

If you would have waited about three hours longer before you made your visit to me, Anita, you would have had a new "sort of post" to examine and for which to write a comment. The entire cast is composed of Norwegians, too, which you might have enjoyed.

My son was unable to put in an appearance this weekend. He became entangled in a work project which delayed his departure, so we decided it would be best to postpone his trip here altogether, rather than to have our time together cut short.

In any case, I am happy that you did put in an appearance and wrote a note for me, Anita. Your presence here always pleases me and I am always happy when you publish a new post for which I am able to write a comment.
